From June 20 to 24, 2010, IVBAM and five Madeira wine producers travelled to the USA on the occasion of three tasting events, two of which were targeted at industry professionals while another was targeted at students.

On June 10, 2010, on the occasion of an official reception to commemorate Portugal Day held aboard the NRP Sagres, the school ship of the Portuguese Navy anchored in the Port of San Diego in the United States, over 300 official guests joined the Portuguese Ambassador to the US, João de Vallera, in a toast with Madeira wine.

During the course of the last week of April, the Instituto do Vinho, do Bordado e do Artesanato da Madeira (“IVBAM”, the Madeiran Wine, Embroidery and Handicrafts Institute) organised three major international events to promote Madeira wines in co-operation with Madeira wine producers and exporters.
